Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Château Thieuley 2025
Tasting
Color
The brilliance of this wine reveals itself through a pale straw color, illuminated by delicate green highlights that reflect its remarkable freshness.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet is intense and complex. It reveals seductive notes of exotic fruits such as mango and lychee, mingled with summer fruit aromas like peach and apricot, along with hints of citrus. The whole is enhanced by floral nuances of acacia and honeysuckle, complemented by subtle mineral and herbaceous notes.
Palate
The attack is lively and fresh, carried by a lovely acidity that structures the wine without masking its fruity expression. The mid-palate is round, rich and perfectly balanced, offering a slightly creamy texture. The finish, wonderfully persistent, stands out with finely saline and savory notes.
Food and Wine Pairing
This cuvée pairs wonderfully well with seafood, such as mussels marinière or oysters, as well as with meaty fish like grilled salmon. It will also perfectly accompany white meats in sauce, dishes based on green vegetables, or lightly spiced dishes.
Serving and Cellaring
This 2025 vintage offers a perfectly balanced profile that promises a lovely evolution, while also showing short-term aging potential after delivery.
Other Characteristics
This dry white wine has an alcohol content of 12.5%. It was also awarded a gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris in 2026, as well as at the prestigious International Wine Challenge the same year.
The Elegance and Freshness of a Great Bordeaux Blanc Sec by Château Thieuley
The Estate
Founded in 1950 by André Courselle, Château Thieuley is a family-owned estate located at the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, near Bordeaux. Today, the estate is run by the third generation, represented by sisters Marie and Sylvie Courselle. A true hallmark of the estate, their commitment to sustainable viticulture is recognized through the Terra Vitis, HVE 3 and Bee Friendly certifications. The estate stands out in particular for its expertise in producing high-quality white wines within a region historically dominated by red wines.
The Vineyard
The vines used to produce these Bordeaux Blancs Secs thrive on a terroir composed of deep clay soils. The vineyard is planted at a density of 6,000 vines per hectare and benefits from environmentally friendly farming practices that promote biodiversity and soil health, allowing it to best express the characteristics of its appellation.
The Vintage
2025 was marked by above-average temperatures, particularly toward the end of the growing season. These warmer climatic conditions required careful vineyard management to preserve the freshness of the grapes while achieving optimal phenolic maturity. Harvest began on August 20, 2025.
Winemaking and Aging
To craft the Château Thieuley 2025, the grapes first undergo skin maceration, followed by pneumatic pressing under nitrogen to protect the juice from oxidation. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine is aged for six months on fine lees, with regular bâtonnage to give it its rich, complex texture.
Grape Varieties
This cuvée is a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon and 10% Sauvignon Gris.
