    Description

The structure and elegance of a great red wine from Saint-Estèphe

A prestigious property of the famous Saint-Estèphe appellation in the Médoc, the Château Tour de Pez confirms its rank among the best Crus Bourgeois estates of the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.

With a vineyard of 30 hectares in production, located on the magnificent terroir of Graves Girondines and clay-limestone marl soils, Château Tour de Pez is one of the more peculiar properties of the Médoc due to the proportion of varietals planted. While the emblematic red grape of the Left Bank, Cabernet Sauvignon represents 40% of the vineyard's surface, Merlot accounts for 55% and is supplemented by 5% of Petit Verdot. The vineyard is densely planted (from 8,500 to 10,000 vines / ha) and extreme care is taken to treat the vine in a way that respects the environment. The property does not use chemical pesticides and the vines are green-pruned in order to allow the wines of Château Tour de Pez to stand out as some of the most respected Crus Bourgeois.

Distinguished as a Grand Cru Classé, the Château Tour de Pez 2017 expresses the profile of its vintage in the typical style and charm of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Matured in French Allier oak barrels (30% which are new) for 14 months, the Château Tour de Pez 2017 offers an aromatic freshness of fruit on the nose, while the palate opens with an elegant attack that highlights the finesse of the tannins and also maintains the structure typical of the wines of Saint-Estèphe. A great red wine made to be kept until it reaches its peak between 2028 and 2035.
