The palate shows remarkable depth with flavors of mocha coffee and spices. Earthy notes mingle with cigar box and aged leather aromas. The blend delivers concentrated aromatic power while preserving the finesse and elegance that define the Delamain signature.
Pairings and tasting moments
This exceptional cognac is best enjoyed neat, with no embellishment, to fully appreciate the complexity of its five historic eaux-de-vie.
An exceptional Grande Champagne cognac celebrating two centuries of history
Delamain, two centuries of excellence in Grande Champagne
Officially founded in 1824 by Henri Delamain in Jarnac, the Delamain House has upheld a singular vision of Cognac Grande Champagne for two centuries. Nine generations of humanists—archaeologists, ornithologists, writers—have shaped this unique identity. For more than twenty years, Delamain has belonged to the Bollinger family, which in 2019 supported its transformation into a winegrowing producer. The House stands out for its exclusive sourcing from Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the appellation, and its categorical refusal of additives. Its cognacs, certified XO with a minimum of ten years of aging, embody remarkable artisanal purity.
The Bicentennial Rare Edition: a unique transgenerational blend
The Bicentennial Rare Edition was created to celebrate 200 years of the House of Delamain (1824–2024). This exceptional blend brings together five Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie of absolute rarity: 1893 (selected by Jean Delamain for its floral aromas), 1914 (chosen by Noel Sauzey from the Verrières vineyard), 1947 (retained by Alain Braastad for its rarity and elegance), 1965 (selected by Patrick Payrelongue for its concentrated aromatic power), and 1969 (chosen by Dominique Tourteau and Charles Braastad for its finesse and elegance).
Each of these 200 numbered bottles is presented in a personalized oak case adorned with a medallion crafted by Goossens, a prestigious Parisian jewelry house. This medallion offers its owner a unique experience: a private tasting with Delamain’s cellar master in Jarnac and a historical journey through the estate’s various cellars. The blending of this cognac was carried out jointly by Dominique Tourteau and Charles Braastad, symbolizing the transmission of nearly 30 years of shared knowledge between two cellar masters.
