Crafted from vines planted close to Ch. Grillet, the 2022 Condrieu Clos Boucher displays a ripe bouquet of almonds, apricots, jasmine, flowers and spices. Medium to full-bodied, textured and enveloping, it's sappy with a lovely oaky mid-palate, leading to a long, delicate and ethereal finish. Fresh and beautifully balanced, this vintage captures the essence of Condrieu, presenting itself as a classic in the making.

A densely packed version, with a beautiful range to its green herb and juicy apricot notes, flecked with fresh green herbs and a flicker of menthol. Totally complete, with all systems firing in unison in this complex, vibrant, full-bodied white. Cooling stone minerality courses through the long, solid finish. Drink now through 2030. 600 cases made, 40 cases imported.

    Stuart Pigott

Complex nose of very ripe peaches, coconut and tropical flowers. Rich and silky with excellent concentration. It’s very finely nuanced on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Creamy on the mid-palate, then so silky in the very long finish. Matured in Burgundian oak barrels for one year, then a further six months on the lees in stainless steel. Drink or hold.

    La RVF

Condrieu Clos Boucher, from a south-facing parcel selection, is balanced and precise. A wine that combines beautiful notes of exotic fruit, richness, and lovely bitters on the finish. Cellar for 3 to 5 years.

The intensity and finesse of a great white wine from the Rhône Valley

    The property

Founded in 1835, Maison Delas Frères embodies one of the great signatures of the northern Rhône Valley. After its acquisition by the Champagne House Deutz in 1977, the history of Delas is enriched with an international dimension, amplified in 1993 by its integration into the Rouzaud family, the main shareholder of the Louis Roederer group. True to its philosophy, the house highlights the geological and climatic richness of the Rhone terroirs, vinifying each plot separately in order to reveal the uniqueness of each appellation.

    The vineyard

Resulting from a rigorous plot selection, Clos Boucher is born from a plot ideally exposed to the south. This exceptional Condrieu wine is only produced during remarkable vintages, with a production limited to about 7,000 bottles per year, a guarantee of rarity and quality.

    Vinification and aging

After a delicate pressing, the musts ferment in new barrels, then benefit from aging on fine lees for nearly six months. Throughout this period, regular stirring is practiced, promoting aromatic complexity and richness of texture.

    Blend

    100% viognier.
