    Description

The elegance and finesse of a red wine from Chambolle-Musigny

    The estate

Founded in 1988 by Anne-Françoise Gros and her husband François Parent, Domaine A.F. Gros is a key name in Burgundy. Born from the union of two prestigious winemaking families, the estate combines the expertise of Vosne-Romanée with that of Pommard. Today, the domaine is led by the new generation, Caroline and Mathias Gros. They oversee a vineyard of around fourteen hectares spread across prestigious appellations. True to their values, the family is committed to producing authentic wines that reflect the purity of each terroir through sustainable and meticulous viticulture.

    The vineyard

The plots dedicated to this cuvée are located in the southern part of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation. The vines thrive under a continental climate, on shallow soils composed of limestone, gravel and stones. This particular geology ensures excellent drainage and gives the grapes remarkable finesse. The domaine favours a sustainable farming approach, limiting chemical intervention to preserve the health of the ecosystems and the vitality of the soils.

    The vintage

2024 was marked by particularly wet and demanding weather conditions. After a mild winter, spring brought abundant rainfall, disrupting flowering in mid-June. This high humidity led to significant fungal pressure, requiring intensive work in the vineyards. A window of dry, windy weather in mid-September allowed the harvest to be accelerated, although further rain arrived at the end of the month. These climatic challenges led to a significant drop in yields.

    Winemaking and aging

The making of the Chambolle-Musigny Village "Domaine" 2024 follows a philosophy of minimal intervention in order to preserve the authenticity of the fruit. The grapes undergo rigorous selection at harvest before being vinified with precision to fully express the typicity of their terroir of origin.

    Grape variety

    Pinot Noir (100%).

Characteristics and tasting notes for the Chambolle-Musigny Village "Domaine" 2024 from Domaine A.F. Gros

    Tasting notes

    Color
The color reveals a delicate ruby red hue with bright highlights.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet stands out for its finesse, exuding aromas of red fruits such as vibrant cherry and wild strawberry, nuanced with touches of blood orange. Subtle floral notes of violet and peony intertwine with light spices and mineral nuances.

    Palate
The palate offers an elegant texture and moderate weight, carried by fine, silky tannins. The vintage's natural acidity gives the whole a lovely tension and remarkable length, while maintaining a harmonious balance.

    Service and storage

This wine from Burgundy can be enjoyed in its youth, but also has the structure needed to age favourably in the cellar until around 2034.

    Food and wine pairing

This red wine pairs beautifully with delicate meats and refined poultry. It is particularly wonderful with a supreme of poultry served with a light cream and mushroom sauce.
