Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs beautifully with fine fish such as Loire pike-perch or roasted sea bass served with a creamy sauce. It will also enhance white meats such as roast poultry, mushroom risotto, and mature goat cheeses.

The mineral purity of a Loire white wine from Domaine Belargus
The estate
Officially founded in 2018 by Ivan Massonnat, Domaine Belargus is located in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay, at the heart of the Anjou Noir in the Loire Valley. This 24-hectare vineyard stands out for its unique grape variety selection, exclusively dedicated to Chenin Blanc. The current owner carries out meticulous, jeweller-like work inspired by Burgundian climats, championing a highly precise parcel-by-parcel approach. Committed to preserving biodiversity, the estate farms its vines according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, giving rise to terroir-driven cuvées of remarkable purity.
The vineyard
The grapes come from the legendary lieu-dit "Les Quarts", located in the commune of Rochefort-sur-Loire. The estate cultivates a 3.08-hectare south-facing plot there. The vines are deeply rooted in very ancient soils composed of Precambrian schist. This historic Loire terroir, intimately linked to the production of sweet wines from the Quarts-de-Chaume Grand Cru appellation, gives this wine a unique mineral tension along with a characteristic fine bitterness. The vineyard is farmed with the utmost respect for the environment and biodiversity.
Winemaking and ageing
True to the estate's philosophy, the making of the Quarts 2022 favours a minimal-intervention approach in order to respect the pure expression of the fruit and terroir. The winemaking relies on fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by extended ageing that allows the wine to develop its full complexity and density.
