    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes for the Pommard Village "Les Petits Noizons" 2024 Domaine de la Vougeraie

    Tasting

    Colour
The colour reveals a beautiful red hue, reflecting the concentration of this vintage.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with intense notes of ripe black fruits, such as black cherry and blackcurrant. It then evolves towards subtle touches of sweet spices, cocoa and damp earth, all underscored by a lovely chalky minerality.

    Palate
On the palate, this wine offers a superb balance between power and elegance. The structure shows a lovely density with well-present tannins that are delicately wrapped, without any harshness. The finish stands out for its remarkable persistence.

    Food and wine pairing

This French red wine pairs wonderfully with game terrines as an aperitif. For the main course, it enhances classic red meats such as a pan-seared beef steak, roast lamb, or slow-cooked dishes like beef bourguignon or coq au vin. When it comes to cheese, it pairs perfectly with washed-rind cheeses such as Époisses, Langres or Soumaintrain, as well as an aged Comté.

    Service and storage

To fully release its complexity, it is recommended to decant the Pommard Village "Les Petits Noizons" 2024 one to two hours before serving. The ideal tasting temperature is between 14 and 16°C. While it can be enjoyed young, this wine has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve favourably until around 2031.

The elegance and concentration of a Pommard wine

    The estate

Officially founded in 1999 by Jean-Claude and Claudine Boisset, Domaine de la Vougeraie is located in Premeaux-Prissey, at the heart of Burgundy. Today, family governance continues with Nathalie and Jean-Charles Boisset, while general management is overseen by Sylvie Poillot. This roughly 52-hectare estate stands out for its deep commitment to biodynamics, applied across all of its plots. Driven by a philosophy focused on revealing the excellence of its terroirs through living soils, the producer has built a solid reputation for crafting vibrant, authentic wines.

    The vineyard

The plot of just over one hectare that gives rise to this wine is located in the village of Pommard, high on the hillside at around 300 metres in altitude. Facing due south, these vines benefit from optimal sun exposure and excellent thermal reflection. The soil, very stony and chalky with a loamy layer beneath, ensures perfect drainage. Farmed according to biodynamic principles, the vineyard receives careful attention, including horse ploughing, winter mounding, and the application of natural plant-based preparations.

    The vintage

2024 was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions in Burgundy. This unpredictable weather led to a tiny harvest, forcing the vine to concentrate all its energy on a very small number of bunches. This difficult context nonetheless resulted in berries of exceptional concentration.

    Winemaking and aging

Following an entirely hand-picked harvest that allowed for rigorous sorting of the bunches, the winemaking of the Pommard Village "Les Petits Noizons" 2024 is geared towards absolute respect for the fresh fruit. The estate favours a gentle approach, avoiding overly heavy extraction techniques, in order to preserve the grape's primary characteristics and the natural expression of its terroir.
