The estate
The Domaine du Château de Meursault took on its modern form in 1973, when André Boisseaux acquired and restored the property. Since December 2012, the estate has belonged to the Halley family, under the leadership of Olivier Halley. Located in Burgundy, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this 67-hectare estate is now farmed entirely organically. It stands out for the diversity of its terroirs, spread across several prestigious villages, and for its strong commitment to sustainable viticulture.
The vineyard
Coming from the Beaune 1er Cru climat "Tuvilains", located in the southern part of the appellation, this wine originates from a plot at the foot of the slope, on light, gravelly clay-limestone soil. Its exposure allows the vines to enjoy generous sunshine throughout the day. The vineyard, planted with Chardonnay, covers an area of 52.47 ares and is part of the organic farming approach followed across all of the estate's terroirs in Beaune.
Vinification and ageing
The vinification of the Beaune 1er Cru "Tuvilains" 2025 begins with an alcoholic fermentation in barrels lasting around ten days. The wine is then aged on its lees for fifteen months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, the remainder being barrels that have previously held one or two wines. During the first six months of ageing, the lees are stirred every two weeks, lending the wine greater richness and complexity.
Grape variety
This wine is made from Chardonnay.
