The structure and balance of a Meursault wine

    The property

In the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of the mythical vineyards of Burgundy. Bearing witness to over 1000 years of history, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is a true Burgundian gem, today owned by the Halley family.

The Domaine du Château de Meursault oversees an exceptional vineyard in Côte d’Or, spread over 65 hectares from Puligny-Montrachet to Aloxe-Corton.

    The vineyard

This 1er cru "Perrières" from Domaine du Château de Meursault is a Meursault wine from a 1.1 hectare terroir divided into two plots located on the hillside on the Perrières, on a hard limestone soil dating from the Jurassic period.

    Vinification and aging

Once the manual harvest of the grapes is carried out, the berries undergo a slow and progressive pressing. After static settling, the musts are then placed in oak barrels to carry out their alcoholic fermentation. Each plot is vinified and aged separately to preserve the authentic expression of its original terroir. Each piece is rigorously monitored throughout the vinification. The aging of 15 to 18 months is carried out in oak barrels (35% new oak as well as barrels of one to two wines). The barrels are assembled before proceeding to bottling.

    Blend

    Chardonnay (100%).
