    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Champ Canet" 2025 from Domaine du Château de Meursault

    Tasting

    Appearance
The wine shows a deep yellow hue with golden highlights.

    Nose
The nose is powerful and expressive, driven by aromas of ripe white and yellow fruits, white flowers and sweet spices, complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and butter.

    Palate
On the palate, this wine is full-bodied and rich, structured by a beautiful tension that gives it a very long aromatic persistence.

    Food and wine pairings
This wine pairs ideally with a veal chop served with a truffle sauce, and also works very well with meaty shellfish, for indulgent and refined combinations.

    Serving and cellaring
The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Champ Canet" 2025 is best served at a temperature of 12°C. Thanks to its fine structure, it can be cellared until around 2040.

A Dense, Floral Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru from Domaine du Château de Meursault

    The estate
The Domaine du Château de Meursault, whose modern vineyard took shape in 1973, is located in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. Its vineyard extends over 67 hectares spread across around a hundred plots, including six grands crus and some twenty premiers crus. Since 2012, the estate has belonged to the Halley family, with Olivier Halley as its central figure, and is managed by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet. The estate has been certified organic since the 2022 vintage.

    The vineyard
This Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru comes from the Champ Canet climat, where the estate farms a 58-are Chardonnay vineyard. Located at the top of the slope, this plot enjoys an easterly exposure and rests on very stony clay-limestone soils. Like the rest of the estate's vineyard, it is farmed according to organic principles.

    The vintage
In the face of advancing global warming, the estate adapts its practices each year to harvest earlier and earlier, in order to preserve the freshness of the grapes and maintain a good balance in its wines. This vigilance guided the decisions made throughout the 2025 growing cycle.

    Vinification and ageing
The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Champ Canet" 2025 is harvested by hand, followed by a meticulous sorting of the grapes. After pressing and settling, the wine ferments in oak barrels for 10 to 15 days, then is aged on its lees for 15 to 18 months, with lees stirring adjusted to the needs of the vintage.

    Grape variety
This wine is made from Chardonnay.
