This red wine reveals a ruby hue with beautiful brilliance, characterized by a moderate intensity typical of its grape variety.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet stands out for its finesse, releasing scents of fresh red fruits such as raspberry and cherry, intertwined with notes of blackcurrant and blackberry. Floral, herbaceous and mineral touches join in, enhanced by subtle spicy nuances of pepper and cinnamon.

Palate
The attack reveals an elegant and well-balanced profile, carried by a lovely acidity that maintains great freshness. The tannins are silky, delicate and velvety, offering a refined texture. The finish, of great purity, lingers on seductive smoky notes.

The estate

Founded in 1998 by Hervé and Claudine Bizeul, Domaine du Clos des Fées has become an essential reference in Roussillon. Located in the spectacular landscape of Vingrau, the estate now spans approximately 30 hectares. Still run by its founders, the estate stands out for a philosophy that combines deep respect for the terroir, sustainable viticulture and a poetic approach to winemaking. The domaine is renowned for its ability to showcase complex terroirs and produce cuvées with a strong, authentic identity.

The vineyard

Produced under the IGP Côtes Catalanes appellation, this wine comes from young vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The vineyard benefits from a transitional climate between Mediterranean and continental influences, swept by the Tramontane wind, which naturally keeps the vines healthy. The vines are cultivated using a sustainable approach, favoring careful observation and manual soil work to preserve the ecosystem.

The vintage

The year 2023 offered particularly mild weather conditions, promoting optimal ripening of the grapes. This favorable climate achieved a perfect balance between sugar accumulation, the preservation of lovely acidity and tannin development.

Winemaking and aging

For this cuvée, the grapes are harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness, then carefully sorted before being transported in refrigerated trucks to preserve their freshness. In the cellar, extractions are carried out gently to preserve the finesse of the tannins, while the wine's smoky finish hints at subtle aging in oak.
