The 2023 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a crushed stone- and pressed white flower-scented nose that demands coaxing from the glass, but it feels well defined and focused. The palate is lively on the entry, with a citric core of fruit. This is tensile and energetic with a sense of tension on the finish. The 2023 is a well-crafted Montmains that should repay bottle age.
