The property
Nicolas Rossignol is the 5th generation of winemakers in the family on the Volnay appellation in Burgundy.
Trained within various estates and in charge of winemaking since 1994 at Domaine Rossignol-Jeanniard, Nicolas Rossignol created his eponymous estate in 1997 on the appellations of Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.
In 2011, the two estates Rossignol-Jeanniard and Nicolas Rossignol merged under the name of Domaine Nicolas Rossignol. With an area of 30 hectares spread over 30 appellations, the vineyard is cultivated in a traditional way with reasoned struggle and inspired by biodynamics

The vineyard
The Pommard Premier Cru 2016 from Domaine Nicolas Rossignol comes from several parcels of Premier Crus whose vines are aged from 45 to 95 years. This comprehensiveness of climates gives a representative vision of the entire appellation.
The vineyard is located on the entire hillside, thus marrying different types of clayey, limestone, light or even draining soils according to their locations.

The vintage
Due to the spring frost, 2016 is a low-yield vintage. The rich and concentrated wines also present great sweetness and beautiful harmony.
