A red Burgundy combining finesse and aromatic richness
The estate
Nicolas Rossignol represents the 5th generation of winegrowers in his family in the Volnay appellation in Burgundy.
Having trained at various estates and having overseen winemaking at Domaine Rossignol-Jeanniard since 1994, Nicolas Rossignol founded his eponymous estate in 1997, with vineyards in the Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses appellations.
In 2011, the two estates, Rossignol-Jeanniard and Nicolas Rossignol, merged under the name Domaine Nicolas Rossignol. Covering 30 hectares spread across 30 appellations, the vineyard is farmed traditionally, using sustainable practices and methods inspired by biodynamics.
The vineyard
The Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2020 from Domaine Nicolas Rossignol comes from vines with an average age of 50 years. Facing due south on clay-limestone soil, this vineyard lies at the top of the slope, on the foothills of the Pernand-Vergelesses hill.
