Characteristics and tasting advice for Citron du Roulot from Domaine Roulot

    Tasting

    Appearance
A translucent pale yellow hue with crystal clarity, revealing subtle golden highlights in the light. A silky viscosity that suggests an enveloping texture.

    Nose
A delicate nose dominated by fresh, lively citrus notes. With aeration, complex aromas gradually emerge: the noble bitterness of zest, discreet floral touches and a distinctive Burgundian minerality typical of the terroir.

    Palate
A round, well-balanced opening with a vibrant citrus acidity. Explosive fruit flavors take center stage, tempered by the elegant bitterness of the zest. Silky, coating texture, and a long, persistent finish that leaves behind a remarkable lemony freshness.

    Serving advice
Ideally serve well chilled between 12 and 13°C, or as a digestif, especially with citrus desserts.

A liqueur that highlights Burgundy know-how

    The estate

Domaine Roulot, based in Meursault in Burgundy since 1820, is a world-renowned wine institution led by Jean-Marc Roulot since 1989. The son, grandson and great-grandson of distillers, Jean-Marc Roulot carries on a family tradition of excellence dating back to 1866. Farming around 13–15 hectares biodynamically, the estate combines the production of exceptional Meursault with a range of fine spirits and liqueurs, with the family still at the heart of this historic activity.

A spirit of rare aromatic harmony, defined by a lingering, zesty freshness

Citron du Roulot is a lemon liqueur crafted from organic Sicilian lemons, combining maceration of the zests with distillation of the whole fruit. Bottled at 35%, this lightly sweetened liqueur offers a remarkable balance between explosive fruit intensity and the noble bitterness of the zest. Its translucent pale yellow color and silky texture reflect the estate’s ancestral, artisan know-how.
