The authentic expression of a Bandol red wine by Domaines Ott

    The estate

Founded in 1912 by agronomist Marcel Ott, the Domaines Ott* represent a true benchmark in the South-East of France. This prestigious brand has developed around a philosophy that respects both the environment and the soils. The estate stands out for its unique structure, bringing together three distinct properties in Provence. Since 2018, the Champagne group Louis Roederer, led by Frédéric Rouzaud, has been the current owner of these lands, while preserving the independence and artisanal expertise that define the reputation of these great wines.

    The vineyard

Covering 90 hectares, this exceptional terroir spans the eight communes of the Bandol appellation. The vines thrive on soils composed of limestone and marl, conditions particularly well-suited to the cultivation of Mourvèdre. The vineyard features two distinct terroir types: plots located in the valley bring freshness and juiciness to the grapes, while vines planted at higher altitudes, on hillsides and terraces, add greater structure and body to the wine.

    The vintage

The year 2021 began with a mild autumn and winter, followed by a classic budburst at the start of spring. Despite a frost episode on April 8 affecting part of the vineyard, the vines experienced favorable vegetative growth. Spring rainfall then delayed the onset of flowering. The summer season proved particularly warm, marked by several heatwaves, leading to the start of the harvest on August 19 with the picking of the first Grenache grapes.

    Grape varieties

This wine is a blend of 80% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache, and 5% Syrah.
