L'Esprit de Chevalier 2021

Matured for nine months in barrels, the 2021 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc possesses a floral, elegant bouquet with aromas of verbena, lime tree leaves, spring flowers, pear and peach intertwined with nutmeg hints. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and juicy, it’s seamless and broad, concluding with a long, penetrating finish. It’s tenser and more vibrant than the 2022 counterpart.

Modestly juicy, with a paraffin hint along the edges, this shows apricot, yellow plum and salted butter notes. Remains honest, thanks to a savory flash at the end. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2026. 1,200 cases made.

Pear, red apple and lemon zest as well as grapefruit and satsuma - this is really fruity and alive on the palate, so much fun and freshness but also harmony and serenity. It's well worked and balanced, not too sharp or sour just gentle. I like the styling here, feels purposeful and delicious. Easy to appreciate with texture and structure. Excellent work.

The 2021 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a light, apple blossom- and citrus peel-scented nose, showing hints of white flower in the background. The palate is well-balanced with a keen line of acidity, malic in style, very fresh and sapid. Hints of orange rind emerge on the finish. Very fine.

Green apples, flowers, lemons, limes and grapefruit scents create the perfume. The palate is even better with its waxy, yellow citrus characteristics. Drink from 2024-2030.

A top-notch second wine, the 2021 L'Esprit De Chevalier Blanc is ripe and medium-bodied, with beautiful purity in its honeyed lemon, minty herbs, and chalky, mineral-like aromas and flavors. It's beautifully balanced, has good acidity, and a kiss of salinity on the finish. I love it today yet see no reason it shouldn't evolve nicely for a decade.

Enjoyable white pear and citrus fruits, and there is less gap overall between the two colours in Chevalier than in many wines, and also between 1st and 2nd wines. A real sign of their success.

A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc 2021 features compelling scents of Golden Delicious apples, lime zest, and lemongrass, plus touches of crushed rocks and pear drops. Light-bodied, it has vibrant apple and citrus flavors, with a crisp line and a peppery finish.

From the outset, Esprit de Chevalier conveys freshness and fruit. The bouquet reveals notes of lime and floral nuances, followed by a hint of hazelnut. Juicy and crisp on the palate, this is a wine that begs to be enjoyed! Good glou-glou!

Pale, bright colour. Very aromatic nose, subtle and fruity. A hint of aniseed, mint and exotic fruits when the glass is swirled. Pure. Soft on the attack, smooth mid-palate and, above all, delicately aromatic, the wine glides across the palate—sappy, juicy and refined. Very good. Blend: 65% Sauvignon, 35% Sémillon. Alcohol: 13%.
