    Robert Parker

    Robert M. Parker, Jr.

The second wine of Nenin, the 2010 Fugue de Nenin, is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc. It is soft, easygoing and slightly short on the palate, but round and generally appealing in a simplified fashion.

    James Molesworth

Soft, friendly, forward and open-knit, with plum, grape and blackberry fruit. A gentle kiss of singed vanilla and a flash of graphite appear on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 6,666 cases made.

Plums and orange peel on the nose. Medium to full body, with velvety tannins and a clean finish. Nice note of nuts and chocolate at the end. Second wine of Nenin. Delicious now but better in 2015.

    Bettane+Desseauve

With an elegant floral profile, this wine has great charm; the tannins are supple, caressing, and fresh. It can already be served.

    Le Figaro Vin

Fairly fresh attack, a lovely, generous mid-palate, and good length.

This is soft, round and beautifully ripe with just a touch of perfume. A rich wine that is only lightly structured, juicy and forward.

    Description

A generous and fruity second red wine from Pomerol

    The estate

Owned by Domaines Delon, Château Nénin embodies, according to the Delon family, “the expression of a great age-worthy Pomerol.” Acquired by the Delon family in 1997, this 19th-century estate underwent major restructuring, bringing Château Nénin to the pinnacle of Pomerol today.

    The vineyard

This Pomerol vineyard covers an area of 32 hectares. The vines are planted on a mosaic of terroirs composed of clay soils, siliceous gravel, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles, and iron-rich crasse.

    The wine

Fugue de Nénin is the Second Wine of Château Nénin, first produced with the 1997 vintage. Fugue contains a higher proportion of Merlot than its elder. As a result, it is more approachable while still expressing the identity of Pomerol and the estate. Its name, Fugue, is inspired by the world of music—a fugue being a repetition of the main theme, which here is the Grand Vin Château Nénin. Fugue de Nénin is a hedonistic, indulgent, round, and silky wine that can be enjoyed earlier than the grand vin, yet offers a very high level of pleasure.

    Blend

Merlot (92%) and Cabernet Franc (8%).
