    Decanter

Superbly fragrant but so pure and precise with really crystalline florality, blackcurrant and cherry plus chocolate. Silky smooth and vibrant, immediately lively and fun but there’s focus as well as clear structure. Juicy with a gorgeous mid-palate full of strawberry and raspberry juice, almost some cranberry too, backed by chalky tannins that perfectly match the brightness with density and concentration. Wide and ample but not angular or heavy. Great wine by the glass or with food. Absolutely delicious, flawless with great detail and poise but giving so much energy, focus, freshness, lift and appeal. Powerful, light on its feet and a touch salty on the finish. Highest ever Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. 3.69pH.

Flowers, tobacco, and black cherries come alive in the perfume with little effort. The palate is medium-bodied, fruity, sweet, and lifted, allowing you to enjoy sweet, berries with energy, with a touch of cocoa to spare. The wine blends 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 7% Petit Verdot. You can enjoy this in its youth while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop. Drink from 2028-2040. 91-93 Pts

Beautiful juicy depths, a ton of black pepper and capsicum. Grainy tannins, bright but deep, floral character. Highest Cabernet Sauvignon to date, and far more than the Giscours itself, this is around 25% of overall production. Thomas Duclos consultant, Jerome Poisson estate director, Didier Foret technical director, harvest September 3 to 25.

The fusion of blackcurrant and eucalyptus notes can only be a delight! It heralds a wine focused on freshness and harmony. The lively, silky attack is followed by compact, finely knit tannins, delivering both vigour and freshness, together with the tautness of the acidic framework. The wine finishes on an energetic, incisive, striking note that electrifies the finish with a breathtaking grip! You’d almost want to put a flashing beacon on the case to warn consumers—but since there’s a siren, that should do the trick! A mouth-watering, savoury wine to enjoy in its youth… and later on too!

A Second Wine expressing the terroir of Margaux with elegance and boldness

    The estate
The winemaking history of Château Giscours truly began in 1552 under the impetus of Pierre de Lhomme, although the origins of the site date back to 1330. Located in the heart of the Bordeaux region, this historic estate has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 1995. Today, the Albada Jelgersma family, with Alexander van Beek as CEO, oversees the destiny of this great name. This prestigious estate stands out for its exceptional terroir and celebrates with this vintage thirty years of passionate stewardship, confirming its essential status.

    The vineyard
The estate extends over an exceptional terroir within the renowned Margaux appellation. The production area covers 95 hectares, resting on soils composed of deep Garonne gravels. The vineyard is managed according to regenerative agriculture principles, promoting biodiversity and soil health through cover crops and massal selection from the oldest vines.

    The wine

La Sirène de Giscours is the Second Wine of Château Giscours.

    The vintage
The harvest for this year took place from September 3 to 25, 2025. This vintage symbolizes three decades of dedication from the owning family and reflects the long-term agronomic work carried out by the estate’s teams. The conditions made it possible to craft a wine with a bold and distinctive expression.

    Vinification and ageing
The berries undergo extremely rigorous manual and optical sorting. Fermentation then takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks, followed by a 35-day maceration at a controlled temperature of 28 °C. Finally, the wine benefits from careful ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, to refine its structure.

    Grape varieties
La Sirène de Giscours 2025 is the result of a blend of cabernet sauvignon (86%), merlot (7%) and petit verdot (7%).
