    Vinum

Subtle roasted notes, floral tones, red berries; approachable, precise tannins, crisp fruit, good length. Delightful.

Perky plum and raspberry character, attractive aromatics, this is enoyable, with charm and lift. A little short on the finish.

A lovely fruity, fresh, aromatic nose, with fine definition, tension, precise grain, complexity, and freshness. It shows elegant notes of graphite and violet, and, more subtly, pulpy blackberry and fresh/pulpy small red berries, combined with touches of fresh camphor and fresh saffron, as well as delicate hints of cornflower, zan, and gravel. The palate is beautifully juicy, fruity, fresh, mineral, and balanced, offering a tangy framework, accuracy, tension, suppleness, energy, and brightness. It reveals notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry and ripe/vibrant raspberry, and more subtly bright small red berries and violet, along with hints of gravel, toasty nuances, and tobacco. A lovely touch of gentle sweetness and savoriness on the finish/persistence. Lovely freshness, brightness, and juiciness, a tangy thread, and a slight creaminess on the finish/persistence. A very appealing savory and mellow side.

    Decanter

Bright and upfront, the acidity makes the first mark, giving an instant buzz and lift, and almost making it seem quite accessible at this early stage, with black and red berry fruit underneath. Relatively simple, but actually very well executed; there’s really nothing not to like here. Some salty minerality on the finish. A great-value second wine.

Checking in as a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and 13% Petit Verdot, the 2023 Les Fiefs De Lagrange is the second wine of this notable Saint-Julien château and is a beautiful effort with considerable charm, accessibility, and elegance. Assorted darker red and black fruits, spicy wood, flowers, and graphite all shine on the nose, and it's medium-bodied, balanced, and already delicious on the palate. Drink bottles any time over the coming 10-12 years. Drink 2026-2037.

So much finesse and freshness in the bouquet of Les Fiefs de Lagrange, with notes of red berries and peonies. Juicy and immediately appealing on the attack, the wine is carried by an elegant structure. It has a structuring acidity that gives it a vibrant character. A savory, refreshing wine.

Deep, intense, bright color. Highly aromatic nose, with pure fruit, floral notes and a touch of licorice. Delicate on the attack, juicy through the mid-palate, very pleasant and aromatic, the wine melts across the palate with medium length.
