The estate
Louis Latour is the largest estate in Burgundy, with a history of over 200 years of winemaking. Spread over the most beautiful plots of land in Premiers and Grands Crus from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, the 50-hectare vineyard of the Domaine Louis Latour gives rise to a range of wines from 130 appellations, each of which expresses with authenticity and refinement the characteristics of its original terroir.
The esteemed Burgundy estate of Louis Latour has been actively involved in environmentally conscious viticulture since 1996.
The vineyard
The village of Aloxe-Cordon is located on a stony hillside, at the food of the Corton mountain. In 1862 the name of one of the terrains, « Corton ,» was added to Aloxe. The vines, on average 30 years old, are planted on a subsoil made up of clay, sand and alluvial gravel to produce an Aloxe-Corton wine known for its eleance and its intense aromatic expression.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested bv hand, the grapes were fermented in open vats. 100% malolactic fermentation. Ageing for a period of 10 to 12 months in French oak casks (of which 15% were new) which were made at the estate’s cooperage.
Blend
Aloxe-Corton Village "Domaine Latour" 2021 from Louis Latour is 100% Pinot Noir.
