    Description

The elegance and complexity of a Corton Grand Cru red wine by Louis Latour

    The estate

Founded in 1797, the Louis Latour house is now represented by the 11th generation, led by Louis-Fabrice Latour. As a négociant-éleveur, the Louis Latour house owns the largest estate of Grands Crus in Burgundy.

    The vineyard

In 1891, the Latour family acquired the château located on the Route des Cortons, previously owned by the Grancey family. Produced only in exceptional years, this Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru by Louis Latour is made from grapes grown in five Burgundian climats (Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi, and Chaumes). Averaging 40 years old, these vineyards are planted on soils composed of marl and limestone.

    Winemaking and aging

After manual harvesting, fermentation is carried out in the traditional way in open vats, with 100% malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (20% new barrels) from the Louis Latour cooperage. After this parcel-by-parcel aging, only the best barrels are selected for the blending of this great Corton wine.

    Blend

    Pinot Noir (100%).
