    Decanter

The Corton-Perrières reveals a spicier, brighter bouquet than the Clos de la Vigne au Saint. Its fruit tones are inflected toward red cherry and berry, with less earthy bass notes. On the palate, the wine is taut, fine-grained and intense, with less flesh on its bones but more elegant structural elements. This is certainly faithful to its terroir.

    James Suckling

Very complex nose with black fruits, as well as spicy, earthy and animal notes. In spite of the power and concentration, the wine is still sleek and racy. Breathtaking finish! Think long term. This will gain so much through two or three years of patience.

    Neal Martin

The 2016 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has an open Morello cherry and strawberry-scented bouquet with orange rind and hints of spice box. The palate is medium-bodied with furry tannins, a fine bead of acidity, but like other Cortons in this flight, it just lacks vigour and complexity toward a rather dullish finish. Drink over the next decade. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
