    Bruce Sanderson

A rich, juicy style, this red delivers cherry, raspberry, floral and spice flavors aligned with a supple texture and refined structure. On the elegant side, yet with a hint of earth that adds robust dimension. Shows fine length. Drink now through 2032. 800 cases made, 250 cases imported.

Dark berry fruit here with mulberries, licorice and dried flowers on the nose. Some tobacco. Cool and firm on the palate, with a medium body and tight tannins. Gently astringent and austere, but enough fruit sweetness to carry this. Try in 2024.

The creaminess and elegance of a Gevrey-Chambertin wine

    The property

Founded in 1797, the house Louis Latour is today represented by the 11th generation with Louis-Fabrice Latour at its head. Wine merchant and grower, the Louis Latour house owns the largest domain of Grands Crus in Burgundy.

    The vineyard

Named Gevrey-en-Montagne until 1847, Gevrey-Chambertin is a village in the Côtes de Nuits located about ten kilometers from Dijon. The 30-year-old vineyards on average, planted on shallow brown-red clay-limestone soils, give birth to a great wine from Gevrey-Chambertin.

    Vinification and aging

Once the manual harvest is done, the fermentation is carried out traditionally in open vats with 100% malolactic fermentation. The aging of 10 to 12 months is carried out in French oak barrels (including 20% new barrels) from the cooperage of the Louis Latour house.

    Blend

    Pinot noir (100%).
