    Tasting

    Colour
Clear and luminous, the colour reveals an elegant pale golden hue.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with subtle floral notes of acacia and honey. With aeration, it reveals fine complexity, with hints of fern and toasted almonds.

    Palate
Generous and full-bodied, the palate offers a rich texture marked by flavours of buttery fruit, honey and almond paste. A pleasant salinity underlines the whole, leading into a long, harmonious finish of great purity.

    Food and Wine Pairing

This white wine pairs wonderfully with refined dishes such as vol-au-vent, pike meunière, a delicate cut of veal or morel mushrooms. It is also a perfect accompaniment to a fine selection of cheeses.

    Service and Storage

To fully appreciate the complexity of the Meursault 1er Cru "Goutte d'Or" 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 12 and 14°C. This great white wine can be enjoyed now, but also has the ageing potential to evolve favourably in the cellar until around 2031.

The Elegance and Tradition of a Great Burgundy Estate

    The Estate

Officially founded in 1797, the House of Louis Latour is an iconic institution in Burgundy, France, renowned for its independence and family character. Currently led by Florent Latour, the estate oversees an exceptional vineyard of 48 hectares, including 27 hectares classified as Grand Cru. A passionate advocate for its terroir, the estate stands out for its environmental commitment, certified organic, as well as for owning its own artisanal cooperage, ensuring perfect mastery over the ageing of its wines.

    The Vineyard

The Meursault 1er Cru "Goutte d'Or" 2024 comes from a historic plot located in the south of the Côte de Beaune. Its poetic name comes from the flecks of flint found in the soil, evoking drops of gold shimmering in the sunlight. The vines, averaging 35 years old, flourish on a terroir of stony marl and Jurassic limestone. Cultivated according to organic farming principles, this Meursault vineyard benefits from controlled yields of 40 hectolitres per hectare, promoting optimal concentration in the grapes.

    Winemaking and Aging

Following manual harvesting, the grapes for the Meursault 1er Cru "Goutte d'Or" 2024 are pressed and then begin their alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. The must is then transferred into French oak barrels, made by the house's own cooperage, to complete this fermentation and undergo full malolactic fermentation. Ageing continues for 8 to 10 months in these barrels (50% new and 50% having held one or more vintages) with a medium toast, before a brief return to tank to finalise the blend prior to bottling.
