On the palate, the wine charms with its lovely roundness and hints of fresh almond. The finish stands out for its balance, with perfectly integrated oak and an elegant minerality that brings freshness.

    The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Beaune, the House of Louis Latour remains an essential reference in Burgundy. Today led by Louis-Fabrice Latour, the eleventh generation, this independent family-owned house has the largest estate of Burgundy Grands Crus. A pioneer in the face of phylloxera, it created the famous Corton-Charlemagne by replanting Chardonnay. Its exceptional heritage stretches from Chambertin to Montrachet, combining centuries-old tradition and viticultural innovation for nearly three centuries.

    The vineyard

The Meursault vineyard benefits from an ideal southeast exposure and sits on stony marl-limestone soils typical of the appellation. The vines, averaging 25 years of age, are harvested by hand and produce an average yield of 45 hL/ha. Meursault wines stand out for their power and their ability to be enjoyed sooner than their neighbors Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.

    The vintage

The year 2020 began with a mild winter followed by a contrasting spring. Summer proved hot and sunny with periods of drought, encouraging optimal ripening of the grapes. These weather conditions made it possible to obtain concentrated, well-balanced berries.

    Vinification and aging

The Meursault Village 2020 is traditionally vinified in French oak barrels from the Tonnellerie Louis Latour, with a medium toast. Malolactic fermentation is carried out 100%. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 15% of which are new, allowing this Burgundy wine to develop complexity while preserving its freshness.
