    ALL VINTAGES OF THIS WINE

    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2017 by Louis Latour

    Tasting

    Appearance
This wine reveals a beautiful pale yellow hue, enhanced by delicate green reflections that testify to its freshness.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet is airy and floral. It releases subtle notes of fresh walnut, harmoniously blended with hints of white fruits, vanilla and light spices from its ageing.

    Palate
The attack reveals a supple, almost creamy texture, perfectly balanced by a beautiful liveliness. The oak is remarkably well integrated, leading to a resonant finish with excellent tension.

    Food and wine pairings
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with œufs en meurette in white wine, rich fish such as sea bream Provençal-style, white meats such as veal paupiettes, or a Chaource cheese.

    Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate this Puligny-Montrachet Village 2017, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 11 and 13°C. With great potential, it can be cellared and enjoyed until around 2031.

The elegance of a great Burgundy chardonnay by Louis Latour

    The estate
Officially founded in 1797, the Louis Latour House is a true institution in Burgundy. This family-owned and independent estate, whose brand shines worldwide, oversees a vineyard of nearly 50 hectares, including a majority of Grands Crus. Today, the twelfth generation, notably represented by Eléonore Latour, carries on this legacy. A pioneer in sustainable viticulture, the property also stands out for a feature unique in the region: it owns its own cooperage, ensuring perfect mastery of the ageing of its wines.

    The vineyard
Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, the prestigious terroir of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation extends over 216 hectares. The plots dedicated to this cuvée lie on soils composed of limestone and scree, offering a typical minerality. The vines, with an average age of around 30 years, benefit from an ideal east and south-east exposure. They are cultivated with controlled yields of around 45 hl/ha to concentrate the aromas of the berries.

    The vintage
The 2017 year was marked by cool climatic conditions, ideal for a slow and gradual ripening of the grapes. This climate produced a particularly harmonious vintage, fruity and perfectly balanced, giving the region's white wines a radiant expression.

    Vinification and ageing
The harvest of this Puligny-Montrachet Village 2017 is carried out exclusively by hand. After direct pressing, fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks before continuing in barrels. The wine then undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation and traditional ageing of 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels (including 15% new oak). These barrels, made in the House's own cooperage and with a medium toast, give the wine great complexity while respecting the fruit.
