    Description

Tasting Characteristics and Advice for the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2022 from Louis Latour

    Tasting

    Color
Pale yellow color with brilliant highlights, characteristic of great Burgundian Chardonnays.

    Nose
The bouquet is intense and floral, revealing delicate notes of honeysuckle and acacia that unfold with aeration.

    Palate
The attack is round and harmonious, revealing aromas of brioche and toasted almond. The ensemble seduces with its elegance and beautiful aromatic persistence.

    Food and Wine Pairings

This Puligny-Montrachet Village pairs perfectly with œufs en meurette in white wine, Provençal-style sea bream, or veal paupiettes. It also goes very well with Chaource cheese.

    Service and Cellaring

This wine is ideally served at a temperature between 11 and 13°C. It can be enjoyed immediately but will develop harmoniously until around 2027.

The richness and liveliness of a Burgundy white wine

    The Estate

Established in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the Louis Latour estate continues a family tradition dating back to 1731 in Bourgogne. Remaining independent and family-owned, each generation bears the name Louis by tradition. The estate is today the largest owner of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or, with emblematic parcels in Corton Grèves, Bressandes, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. This Burgundian house combines ancestral cooperage expertise with viticultural excellence.

    The Vineyard

The vineyard of Puligny-Montrachet covers 216 hectares and enjoys a worldwide reputation for exceptional Chardonnays. Situated between Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south, this privileged terroir rests on limestone and scree soils. The vines of this Puligny-Montrachet Village average 30 years of age and are cultivated with a controlled yield of 45 hectolitres per hectare. Harvesting is carried out by hand to preserve the integrity of the fruit.

    Winemaking and Aging

Traditional vinification in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Aging is carried out over 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 15% of which are new from the Louis Latour cooperage. This respectful approach preserves the pure expression of the terroir while adding subtle aromatic complexity.

    Grape Variety

    100% Chardonnay.
