    Description

The complexity and balance of an Ermitage wine signed M. Chapoutier

    The property

Established since 1808 in Tain-L’Hermitage, the M. Chapoutier House embodies today the elite of the greatest names in the Rhône Valley.

Vineyard owner and merchant, Michel Chapoutier has managed over the vintages to lead this family business to the top. Maison Chapoutier's wines are recognized for their refinement and high quality by the finest connoisseurs beyond borders. A man of many hats, Michel Chapoutier holds the world record for 100/100 scores awarded by the American Robert Parker. Mathilde, Michel Chapoutier's daughter, has taken over the torch of this iconic house, overseeing a vineyard of over 350 hectares across the most prestigious appellations of the northern and southern Rhône Valley.

    The vineyard

The Jubilé 200 years 2008 cuvée from M. Chapoutier is an Ermitage wine made from a blend from the different plots of the Murets (pebbles on red clays), Méal (fluvio-glacial alluvium, pudding stones and loess) and Ermite (granitic arenas) places.

    Vinification and aging

The different plots were harvested and vinified separately. Whole bunch pressing, slow fermentation in indigenous yeasts. Regular stirring of the lees. The places were then blended for aging. 35% of the blend was aged in stainless steel tanks and 65% in demi-muid for 15 months.

Characteristics and tasting advice for the Jubilé 200 years 2008 cuvée from M. Chapoutier

    Tasting

    Color
The color is of a light gold hue with brilliant reflections.

    Nose
Complex, the nose offers notes of slightly brioche almond that evolve towards honeysuckle fragrances and aniseed touches of fennel. It then develops praline aromas, acacia honey, yellow flesh fruits and candied zests.

    Palate
Ample from the attack, the palate seduces with its creamy texture as well as its balance highlighted by a vegetable point. The tasty and persistent finish is carried by a beautiful bitterness and caramel milk flavors.

    Service

It is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature between 12 and 14°C.

    Food and wine pairings

Truffles or foie gras ravioli are refined pairings with this white wine from the Rhône Valley.
