A Marc de Riesling from Alsace of rare elegance by Maison Trimbach
Maison Trimbach: historical excellence in Alsace
Founded in 1626 in Riquewihr, Maison Trimbach is a true institution of Alsatian winemaking. Established in Ribeauvillé since 1920, on the prestigious field of geological fractures, the family has built its international reputation on the production of dry, precise wines crafted for ageing. The estate's identity is rooted in a purist philosophy, championing exceptional limestone terroirs such as the Muschelkalk. Today, the property is run by the twelfth generation, embodied by the brothers Pierre Trimbach, technical director and outstanding winemaker, and Jean Trimbach, global ambassador of the estate. They are actively supported by the thirteenth generation (Anne, Frédérique, Pauline and Julien), thus ensuring the continuity of a unique family expertise and an absolute standard of quality.
The Marc de Riesling Clos Sainte-Hune: the essence of a legendary terroir
The Marc de Riesling Clos Sainte-Hune is an exceptional eau-de-vie that extends the expression of the most legendary of the estate's terroirs. The raw material comes exclusively from Riesling marc (skins and pips) sourced from the 1.67-hectare plot of Clos Sainte-Hune, located within the Grand Cru Rosacker in Hunawihr. This unique shell-limestone terroir gives the harvest an extraordinary concentration and minerality.
To craft this ultra-premium spirit, the family has partnered with Alsatian master distiller Michel Windholtz. The marc is distilled with meticulous precision in a copper column still. The eau-de-vie then benefits from an exceptional ageing of several decades in demijohns, resting peacefully in the estate's cellars to round out its aromas.
The result of a meticulous blend of several years of distillation, this Marc de Riesling is an extremely confidential specialty. Offered in very limited quantities, it is presented in an elegant individual wooden gift box. This rare cuvée illustrates the estate's determination to capture the soul of its iconic terroir in a spirit of absolute refinement.
