The 2023 Riesling Réserve was made from 40-50-year-old vines mostly in Ribeauvillé and Bergheim, including Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. This golden-hued wine has a shimmer of chamomile on its tender, bright and fresh apple-tinged nose. The palate shoots like an arrow of freshness, sleek and slender but with killer instinct. Ripeness and juiciness are united here in their one intention of refreshment. Dryness and a lovely zesty texture ring long after the finish. (Bone-dry)

Precise and refined, the bouquet reveals notes of peach and aromatic herbs, enhanced by a mineral touch. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied. It offers lovely substance and benefits from the valuable support of its saline, refreshing structure. An elegant, savoury wine to enjoy both young and with some age.

The estate

Officially founded in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, Maison Trimbach is a true institution located in Ribeauvillé, at the heart of Alsace. Renowned worldwide for its wines of great purity, the estate has built its reputation on a style combining balance and precision. Following the passing of Pierre Trimbach, the estate is now led by the thirteenth generation of the family. Julien Trimbach now oversees technical responsibilities, supported by Anne, Frédérique and Pauline. This historic estate, named brand of the year in 2025, brilliantly carries on an exceptional winemaking heritage.

The vineyard

The estate's vineyard spans around 70 hectares, entirely certified organic. Located in Alsace, this exceptional terroir benefits from the natural protection of the Vosges mountains. This geographical barrier ensures a particularly dry climate, with warm days and cool nights, allowing for slow berry ripening. Spread across several villages, the plots lie on a geological fault line offering a unique mosaic of soils composed of limestone, sandstone, marl, clay, gneiss, granite and Muschelkalk.
