Description
The Barbaresco of Marchesi di Barolo is a Nebbiolo red wine produced in the Barbaresco appellation. The vineyards used for the production of this cuvée are located on sloping hills, characterised by clay-limestone subsoils covered with quartz sand and fine silt. The wine is aged for 1 year in Slovenian and French oak barrels, then mixed in large Slovenian oak barrels, before ageing a few months directly in the bottle.
With its garnet rouge colour and shades of ruby, the Barbaresco 2013 of Marchesi di Barolo reveals intense and persistent aromas of fruits, wild roses and spices. While the palate is full-bodied and robust, the wine remains harmonious and admirably balanced thanks to its soft and delicate tannins.
