    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2019

    Tasting notes

    Appearance
The colour reveals a hue ranging from pale yellow to light gold. Clear and bright, it displays beautiful legs that testify to its richness.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet unfolds with great complexity. It releases fragrances of white flowers, citrus and exotic fruits, harmoniously intertwined with evolved notes of light honey, dried fruits and sweet spices, all underlined by a subtle mineral touch.

    Palate
On the palate, this wine offers an ample and generous substance, perfectly balanced by a fine acidity that gives it great freshness. The slightly enveloping texture extends towards a finish of remarkable length, marked by floral and spicy notes.

    Food and wine pairings

This great white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood such as crustaceans, shellfish or a noble fish with delicate flesh. It will also enhance white meats in cream sauces, as well as soft cheeses such as a brie or an aged goat's cheese.

    Serving and cellaring

To fully appreciate all the complexity of Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2019, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C, taking care to aerate it lightly in the glass. Designed for ageing, this cellaring wine can evolve favourably in the cellar for around ten years.

The richness and freshness of a great white wine from the Languedoc

    The estate

Founded in 1971 by Véronique and Aimé Guibert, Mas de Daumas Gassac is an emblematic family estate located in Aniane, in the heart of the Languedoc. Following in the historical footsteps of a terroir revealed by monks thirteen centuries earlier, the estate quickly established itself as an essential reference. Today led by Roman Guibert, representative of the new generation, the estate perpetuates a demanding philosophy. It stands out for its determination to produce cellaring wines of great elegance, reflecting all the singularity and richness of its preserved environment.

    The vineyard

From the IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, this wine comes from the Haute Vallée du Gassac. The vines flourish within a preserved natural environment, fostering rich biodiversity. The terroir is characterised by deep, poor and perfectly drained soils, composed of glacial scree. This unique geographical setting benefits from a specific microclimate, cooled at night by the air currents descending from the Larzac plateau. These ideal conditions allow for a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes, giving this Languedoc wine its freshness and ageing potential.
