A great Veneto wine, rich and delicate, by Masi

    The estate

Founded in 1772, Masi in Veneto remains a cornerstone of Valpolicella Classica. A family-owned estate of the Boscaini family, now led by Sandro Boscaini, the estate has distinguished itself through its masterful command of appassimento and its pioneering spirit. In 1958, it became the first Italian estate to market a cru wine from a named vineyard, and since the 1980s it has set the benchmark style for Amarone.

    The vineyard

Costasera is an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico sourced from vines planted on west-facing slopes in Valpolicella Classica. These parcels, around 35 years old, enjoy privileged exposure to Lake Garda, benefiting from reflected light and a milder microclimate that promotes optimal grape ripening.

    Winemaking and aging

Masi Costasera 2020 is crafted using the traditional appassimento method, an age-old technique mastered by Masi. Grapes from Valpolicella Classica are laid out on bamboo racks during the winter months, allowing a natural concentration of aromas and flavors through controlled dehydration.

    Grape varieties

The blend follows Venetian tradition with Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, the emblematic trio of Veneto that gives the wine its unique personality and authentic character.
