An exceptional French blended malt aged in Burgundy
The estate
Founded by the Belgian Michel Couvreur, this distinctive House established itself in Bouze-lès-Beaune, France, where it crafts exceptional whiskies using artisanal methods. Specializing in aging malts in sherry casks in dry Burgundy cellars, the estate stands out for its unique approach to maturation. Michel Couvreur rigorously selects its distillates, which are aged in various sherry casks (fino, Pedro Ximénez, amontillado, oloroso). The brand enjoys notable recognition, with its whiskies having been selected for the Best Sommelier of France 2026 competition.
A historic first regular release
Following the "Unexpected" cuvée, the Hexanobile French Blended Malt 2026 Edition represents the first French cuvée from Maison Michel Couvreur. Part of the Les Classiques collection, this whisky comes from a blend bringing together around 10 casks from three different distilleries, with malts aged 8 to 12 years old. Aging in sherry casks (fino, Pedro Ximénez, amontillado, oloroso) gives this blended malt rare aromatic complexity, combining finesse, vibrancy, indulgence and depth.
