Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for Blanco de Mijenta
Tasting
Appearance
Bright, crystalline hue.
Nose
Intense and complex, the nose reveals aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel enhanced by the slow-cooking process. Floral and fruity notes of cantaloupe, honey, cinnamon, and peaches then unfold, with nuances of rose and acacia petals that soften the clay and lime aromas.
Palate
Rich flavors of cooked agave, vanilla, and fresh fruit are perfectly balanced. Notes of summer fruits, caramelized agave, and cinnamon take the lead, accompanied by subtle hints of coconut on the attack and white pepper characteristics. The exceptional finish, generous and rounded, reveals notes of tobacco, agave with nuances of cocoa, and grapefruit zest.

An artisanal tequila blanco from the highlands of Jalisco
Mijenta: a Mexican tequila, a pioneer in sustainability
Mijenta is an artisanal tequila house founded in 2020 in Jalisco (Mexico) by a team led by entrepreneur Elise Som and Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero Mena. Inspired by Mexican culture and hospitality, the brand focuses on high-quality blue agave, traditional methods, and a sustainable approach (local suppliers, eco-friendly packaging, Mijenta community foundation). The name “Mijenta” comes from the expression “mi gente” (“my people”), reflecting the idea of a tequila rooted in terroir, craftsmanship, and community. The range first launched with a Blanco, then expanded to Reposado and Añejo Gran Reserva expressions.
Blanco de Mijenta: the pure expression of highland agave
Blanco de Mijenta represents the purest expression of Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco. This tequila is crafted using a traditional slow-cooking process that develops complex aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel. Double distillation, overseen by renowned Master Distiller Ana Maria Romero, preserves the spirit’s full aromatic richness.
Bottled unfiltered at 40% ABV, this tequila retains all its natural aromatic compounds. The brand’s environmental commitment is reflected in each bottle made from local glass, while the labels are produced from agave waste.
