    Mijenta: a feminine revolution

    Mijenta is an artisanal tequila house founded in 2020 in Jalisco (Mexico) by a team led by entrepreneur Elise Som and Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero Mena. Inspired by Mexican culture and hospitality, the brand focuses on high-quality blue agave, traditional methods, and a sustainable approach (local suppliers, eco-friendly packaging, the Mijenta community foundation). The name “Mijenta” comes from the expression “mi gente” (“my people”), reflecting the idea of a tequila rooted in terroir, know-how, and community. The range first launched with a Blanco, then expanded to Reposado and Añejo Gran Reserva expressions.

    Reposado Mijenta: the artisanal excellence of Jalisco

    Mijenta Reposado is crafted by Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero Mena from 100% mature Blue Weber agave harvested in the Highlands of Jalisco on mineral-rich red clay soils. Production follows a traditional artisanal process with double distillation in copper stills, followed by aging for up to 6 months in a unique blend of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia casks.

    This approach gives this tequila its distinctive aromatic complexity and silky texture. The brand’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability translates into bat-friendly farming practices, pesticide-free agave cultivation, and the use of recycled materials for packaging.
