The estate
Based in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635, Domaine Olivier Leflaive has carried on the tradition of great Burgundy wines, offering one of the finest expressions of Chardonnay in the world. At the helm of one of Burgundy's leading estates, Olivier Leflaive has become an emblematic figure of the Côte de Beaune. Patiently built up over time, the Olivier Leflaive vineyard now covers 17 hectares on the finest terroirs of Burgundy.
The vineyard
"Fichots" is a Pernand-Vergelesses wine from an 11.20-hectare vineyard located between 230 and 250 metres above sea level, where vines averaging 22 years of age grow in clay-limestone soils.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage was marked by above-average seasonal temperatures, spells of frost in early April and a particularly sunny summer.
Vinification and ageing
Grapes are harvested by hand, then sorted and fully destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open vats, with a 19-day maceration. The wine is aged for 16 months (including 4 months in bulk) in barrels (20% new).
Blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
