    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Beaune 1er Cru "Les Teurons" 2022 by Remoissenet Père et Fils

    Tasting

    Colour
With a beautiful ruby colour, this wine reflects controlled extraction and fully realized maturity.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with a generous concentration of red and black berries, enhanced by delicate notes of violet. The whole is elevated by spicy touches and an elegant oaky base with toasted nuances.

    Palate
The attack is vibrant and full of tension, introducing a wine that is both structured and ample. The texture, remarkably dense and juicy, extends into a persistent, spicy finish of great length.

    Food and Wine Pairing

This red wine pairs harmoniously with veal fillet mignon with mushrooms, wild boar stew or roasted poultry such as capon. It will also pair very well with roasted duck with spices as well as aged cheeses such as Comté or Cîteaux.

    Service and Storage

With excellent aging potential, this Beaune 1er Cru "Les Teurons" 2022 promises a long evolution and can be enjoyed until around 2054.

    Other Characteristics

To preserve the full expression of its terroir and its tactile texture, this wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

The Authentic Expression of a Burgundy Terroir by Remoissenet Père et Fils

    The Estate

Founded in 1877 in the heart of Beaune, the house of Remoissenet Père et Fils is a historic institution of Burgundy. Housed in fourteenth-century buildings, it has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 2005 by American investor Edward L. Milstein, its current majority owner. Now led by a team of experts, including winemaker Claudie Jobard, the estate oversees around thirty hectares of vineyards cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The estate is particularly renowned for its precise wines and its impressive collection of old vintages.

    The Vineyard

The climat "Les Teurons" is one of the largest parcels among the Beaune Premiers Crus. Ideally situated in the centre of the slope with a southeast exposure, this terroir takes its name from the small limestone stones that make it up. The vines flourish on heterogeneous soils, blending clay, limestone and sand, giving the grapes a distinctive minerality. The vineyard is managed according to biodynamic principles, with a high planting density favouring qualitative concentration in the berries.

    The Vintage

The year 2022 was marked by significant climatic contrasts. After a harsh winter affected by frost and hail, spring proved particularly warm and mild, encouraging rapid vine development. These summer conditions allowed for accelerated ripening of the berries at the end of the season, resulting in impeccable health at harvest, which began in late September.

    Winemaking and Aging

The hand-harvested grapes undergo careful sorting on three separate tables. The winemaking of the Beaune 1er Cru "Les Teurons" 2022 takes place traditionally in open wooden vats over three weeks. The wine is then aged for 18 to 20 months in 350-litre French oak barrels, incorporating a measured proportion of new oak to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
