The elegance and intensity of a great red wine from Burgundy
The estate
An offshoot of the Picard family, whose winemaking history began in 1951, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate was officially created in the late 2000s. Located in the heart of Burgundy, this 35-hectare property is now run by Francine Picard, a representative of the third generation. A true guardian of prestigious terroirs, she instils a philosophy focused on respect for the environment. The estate stands out for its rigorous biodynamic viticultural approach, intensified since 2019, aimed at expressing the authenticity and purity of its exceptional climats with minimal intervention.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the famous "Les Chaumées" climat, located in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. The estate cultivates a half-hectare parcel of vines aged around 50 years there. Ideally exposed to the south-east, this mid-slope terroir lies on clay-limestone soils rich in marl, providing optimal drainage. The vineyard is managed with a rigorous environmental approach, including natural grass cover and the use of biodynamic preparations to preserve soil vitality.
