An exceptional vintage champagne balancing roundness and liveliness
The estate
Since 1843, the Champagne Krug House has honored the dream of its founder, Joseph Krug, by creating each year a new Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée, the most generous expression of Champagne, regardless of annual climatic variations. At the House of Krug, each vintage pays tribute to the specific character of a given year. A Krug vintage is not only a blend of the most expressive wines from a single year, but also a bottle that rests for more than 10 years in the cellar before revealing itself. Each vintage is unique, unveiling a new score, subtly interpreted by an ensemble of musicians and captured by Krug.
The wine
Krug 2011 is a fascinating story combining finesse and power, and was thus named “Chiseled Roundness” by the House’s Tasting Committee. For this prestigious estate, the year 2011 gave birth to a confidently styled champagne, full of character and opulent while also revealing remarkable liveliness.
Blend
This 2011 vintage champagne is the result of a blend of Pinot Noir (46%), Chardonnay (37%), and Pinot Meunier (17%).
