Description
The aromatic palette and refinement of a Pomerol wine
The estate
Founded in 1825, Château Feytit-Clinet extends over 6.5 hectares on the western plateau of Pomerol, on the right bank of Bordeaux. A family property owned by the Chasseuil family since 2000, the estate benefits from the stewardship of Jérémy Chasseuil, who has transformed it since 1999. This revival has elevated Feytit-Clinet to the ranks of the appellation's emblematic estates.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Feytit-Clinet spans 6.32 hectares within the Pomerol appellation. The vines, with an average age of 34 years, thrive on soils of gravel and gravel over clay. This geological composition gives the terroir a distinctive personality, fostering the expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which make up the estate's grape varieties.
Winemaking and ageing
Pre-fermentation cold maceration for 3 days at 10°C in rectangular concrete vats. The total maceration, including fermentation, lasts 3 to 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place directly in barrels, followed by 2 months of ageing on lees. Ageing then continues for 15 months in barrels, with 65% new oak and 35% one-wine barrels. Alcohol content: 14.1%.
Blend
The blend of Château Feytit-Clinet 2025 consists of Merlot (87%) and Cabernet Franc (13%).
