Decanter

Some tobacco, cedar and dark chocolate elements on the nose. There’s a sweetness from the oak with clean, ripe fruit behind so it’s a little cloying and highly charged right now with plenty of toasted elements – vanilla, chocolate – that just detract from the overall enjoyment at this point. Still, there’s good direction and persistence from start to finish. This will resolve beautifully after ageing with a silkiness to the fruit.

Violets, licorice, truffle, licorice, smoke, black cherries, and chocolate create the perfume. Polished, plush, fresh, and creamy, the wine is packed with ripe, sweet, energetic fruits, chocolate, and espresso. The finish is long, clean, supple, and packed with sweet, ripe, juicy fruits. This is among the best vintages of Feytit Clinet ever produced. The wine blends 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2029-2055. 95-97 Pts

Cloves, sage, dried spices, supple texture, plenty of cassis and dark bilberry fruit, clear oak influence that will soften over ageing; this has ageing potential and enjoyable fruit. Highly charged. Harvest September 3 to 12. 27 hl/ha. 65% new oak for ageing.

Right from the start, Feytit-Clinet shines with depth and subtlety. Its ability to highlight barrel aging just as much as delicate notes of redcurrant, licorice and peony speaks to its greatness. The finesse hinted at on the nose is perfectly echoed on the palate from the very first sip. Both refined and powerful, this wine is a reminder that exceptional growths can set finesse and power side by side, in equal measure. The common denominator behind its overall performance is the winemaker’s talent, diligent and attentive to the terroir. A vibrant, uplifting wine.

A deeply colored wine with moderately aromatic notes on the nose, lacking body on the palate. Blend: 87% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 14.1% - pH: 3.70. Yield: 27 hl/ha. Production: 9,000 bottles.

Vinum

Deep, dark-fruited, complex, with spicy notes—cool fireplace, violet, coriander seed—pure poetry; the palate is lush, creamy and yet fresh, with sensational tannins and a crunchy fruit core. The wine shows tremendous energy and the harmony is impressive; the finish is majestically long, with a mix of dark and red berries on the back palate. The wine already impressed in 2023, and this 2025 takes it up another notch. The best Feytit-Clinet I’ve ever had the chance to taste.

Description

The aromatic palette and refinement of a Pomerol wine

The estate
Founded in 1825, Château Feytit-Clinet extends over 6.5 hectares on the western plateau of Pomerol, on the right bank of Bordeaux. A family property owned by the Chasseuil family since 2000, the estate benefits from the stewardship of Jérémy Chasseuil, who has transformed it since 1999. This revival has elevated Feytit-Clinet to the ranks of the appellation's emblematic estates.

The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Feytit-Clinet spans 6.32 hectares within the Pomerol appellation. The vines, with an average age of 34 years, thrive on soils of gravel and gravel over clay. This geological composition gives the terroir a distinctive personality, fostering the expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which make up the estate's grape varieties.

Winemaking and ageing
Pre-fermentation cold maceration for 3 days at 10°C in rectangular concrete vats. The total maceration, including fermentation, lasts 3 to 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place directly in barrels, followed by 2 months of ageing on lees. Ageing then continues for 15 months in barrels, with 65% new oak and 35% one-wine barrels. Alcohol content: 14.1%.

Blend
The blend of Château Feytit-Clinet 2025 consists of Merlot (87%) and Cabernet Franc (13%).
