Nose
The nose is floral and delicate, driven by notes of white fruit and citrus, at times accompanied by hints of lemon blossom and toasted hazelnut.
Palate
The palate is full-bodied and textured, supported by a mineral freshness that balances the richness of the fruit, leading to a long, lingering finish.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine pairs well with fish and seafood, poultry in white sauce, and soft cheeses. It also lends itself to Asian cuisine with moderate spicing.
Serving and cellaring

A white Châteauneuf-du-Pape balancing mineral freshness and aromatic complexity
The estate
The documented history of Château La Nerthe, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône Valley, dates back to 1560. Located south of the village, in the south-eastern part of the appellation, the estate is among the oldest in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its 92-hectare vineyard, farmed organically since 1998, has belonged to the Richard family since 1985. The estate is managed by the oenologist Rémi Jean. Natural springs and wooded areas contribute to the freshness and biodiversity of this site, whose architectural setting is marked by the 18th-century château.
The vineyard
The grapes for this white Châteauneuf-du-Pape come from plots in the south-east of the appellation, on a mosaic of clay-limestone soils, sand and sandstone scattered with large rounded pebbles. The presence of natural springs and wooded areas helps preserve the freshness of the vineyard, providing cool nights that favour the aromatic expression of the white grape varieties. The vineyard, certified organic since 1998, is harvested exclusively by hand, plot by plot, in order to preserve the quality and typicity of the fruit.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being pressed. Vinification focuses on aromatic precision and the preservation of freshness, with fermentations carried out at controlled temperatures. Part of the production is aged on fine lees, in tanks and suitable wooden vessels, in order to develop the texture and complexity of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2025 Château La Nerthe while maintaining its balance.
Grape varieties
This wine is made from Grenache Blanc, an emblematic grape variety of the dry white wines of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
