Château Picque Caillou 2024

Intense nose, red cherries, balsamic notes, a dollop of cream; delicate on the palate, crisp fruit, well-judged tannins, lively acidity, light on its feet, with drinkability, length and harmony. Will be enjoyable early, very successful.

Ripe and fleshy blue fruit with salty minerality on the palate. Tannins are filling and really coat the mouth, but in a cool way, with plenty of mint and liquorice salinity. Not the most dense, but there’s flavor here and a long finish with clean edges.

Fresh and fruity, Picque Caillou shows a touch of density and plenty of vitality. Its tannins are round and provide a reliable framework. It still needs to gain in palate expression and refine its finish. The outlook is positive!

Sappy, understated, leafy but well constructed, they have done a good job of carefully ensuring the wine has fresh fruits and charm. 30% new oak. 44 hl/ha yield.
