The estate
Passionate about and captivated by the character of Bandol wines, Georges Delille founded Domaine de Terrebrune in 1963. After extensive earthworks, restoration of the stone walls and planting of the vines, Georges Delille released his first vintage in 1980. His son, Reynald, now runs the estate alongside businessman Jean d'Arthuys, who joined him in 2020, with the same rigorous commitment to quality and respect for the environment and tradition.
The vineyard
Farmed organically, this 30-hectare terraced vineyard in Bandol overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Its soil consists of limestone gravel set in brown clay, which inspired the estate's name. This ancient, poor soil encourages the vines to root deeply through the fissures in the limestone and contributes to the unique signature of the estate's wines.
The vintage
A wet winter was followed by a hot, dry spring and summer.
Winemaking and ageing
Hand-harvested plot by plot at full ripeness, the grapes are rigorously sorted. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and no additives other than a minimal dose of sulphites. Maceration for 2 to 3 weeks with daily pump-overs. Aged for 18 months in oak foudres.
Blend
Mourvèdre (85%)
Grenache (10%)
Cinsault (5%)
