In-Stock
Description
The elegance and structure of a Nuits-Saint-Georges red wine
The estate
Taken over in 1996 by the Devillard family, Domaine des Perdrix has established itself as a key reference in Burgundy. Located in Premeaux-Prissey, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in France, the estate spans 15 hectares of vines cultivated using sustainable farming methods. Now run by Bertrand and Christiane Devillard, supported by their children Aurore and Amaury, the estate is particularly renowned for its prestigious terroirs and the outstanding quality of its wines, combining tradition with technical precision.
The vineyard
The Nuits-Saint-Georges "Village" 2022 comes from two historic plots, "Au Bas de Combe" and "Aux Barrières", located to the north of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. Covering an area of 1.16 hectares, these vines, with an average age of 60 years, thrive on clay-limestone soils where clay predominates, giving the wine its distinctive minerality and well-defined structure.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for the Nuits-Saint-Georges "Village" 2022 are harvested entirely by hand, followed by rigorous sorting. After complete destemming, a cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out, followed by a fermentation period of about 15 days using exclusively indigenous yeasts. The press wine and free-run juice are kept separate. The wine is aged for 13 months in French oak barrels (35% new oak) sourced from the forests of Burgundy, the Allier, and the Vosges, before a final refinement of 3 months in tank.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
