The elegance and precision of a white Burgundy
The estate
Rooted in Meursault for seven generations, the Bouzereau family has devoted itself to growing vines in Burgundy. Today, Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils is one of the region's most iconic names. Masterfully run by Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau since 1999, the estate tends around twelve hectares of vineyards. The domaine favours environmentally friendly viticulture and gentle winemaking, crafting wines renowned for their purity, balance and remarkable precision.
The vineyard
This Burgundy wine comes from a one-hectare plot nestled within a walled vineyard at the foot of the slope in the village of Meursault. Planted on clay-limestone soils, the vines, which average around forty years of age, benefit from a highly favourable microclimate. The estate uses biodynamically inspired farming methods, including regular ploughing and no chemical weedkillers, to preserve the vitality of the terroir and harvest fruit of the finest quality.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, then the berries are meticulously sorted before a slow, gentle pressing. Fermentation begins naturally with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for twelve months in oak barrels, around 15% of which are new. To perfect its harmony, it is finally blended and left to refine in vat for four to five months before bottling.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
