Serving and Cellaring
Approachable in its youth to showcase its aromatic freshness, this Riesling "Les Jardins" 2024 can be enjoyed now and will develop gracefully until around 2029.
The Freshness and Finesse of an Alsace White Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1966 by Irma and Adolphe, Domaine Ostertag has established itself as a benchmark in Alsace, France. Located in Epfig, this 15-hectare family estate was elevated by André Ostertag, a pioneer of biodynamics in the region. Today, Arthur Ostertag heads the estate and carries on this demanding philosophy. Certified by Demeter and Ecocert, Domaine Ostertag stands out for its meticulous plot-by-plot approach and artistic vision, crafting wines of great purity that faithfully express the richness of their terroirs.
The Vineyard
This cuvée comes from a mosaic of plots covering around 2.5 hectares surrounding the village of Epfig, in Alsace. The vines, around thirty years old, thrive on a wide diversity of soils composed of gravel, sand, silica and clay. The vineyard is farmed entirely according to biodynamic principles, encouraging deep rooting and soil vitality, and the grapes are harvested by hand to ensure a rigorous selection of the finest bunches.
Winemaking and Ageing
The winemaking of the Riesling "Les Jardins" 2024 aims to preserve the purity of the fruit and the freshness of the terroir. After fermentations carried through to a perfectly dry profile, the wine is aged for 6 to 9 months, mainly in tanks.
