Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Morey-Saint-Denis Village Blanc 2022 by Domaine Dujac
Tasting
Colour
The glass reveals a bright sheen of a beautiful golden hue with shimmering glints.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of white-fleshed fruit, fresh citrus and spring flowers. Delicate touches of sweet almond and a subtle minerality then intertwine with elegance.
Palate
The palate offers a full, silky texture, supported by a refreshing tension. Flavours of vine peach and candied lemon blend with chalky nuances. The finish proves particularly long, saline and persistent.
Food and Wine Pairing
This white wine pairs beautifully with poultry in creamy sauce, fine fish or pan-seared scallops. On the cheese side, it enhances aged goat cheeses or a mature Comté.
Service and Storage
This Morey-Saint-Denis Village Blanc 2022 reveals its full potential after a few years in the cellar and can be enjoyed until around 2032.
The Authentic Expression of a Great White Burgundy by Domaine Dujac
The Estate
Founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, Domaine Dujac is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of Burgundy. A pioneer in the expression of terroir, the estate stands out for its environmentally respectful approach, incorporating organic and biodynamic practices to enhance each cuvée. Today, the estate is run by the new generation, who continue this exceptional expertise.
The Vineyard
The grapes come from carefully selected plots within the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. The clay-limestone soils give this white wine a distinctive minerality and beautiful depth. The vineyard work is particularly meticulous, with regular ploughing and deliberately limited yields to ensure optimal quality.
The Vintage
The year 2022 was marked by a hot, dry summer season. These weather conditions favoured excellent ripeness of the white grapes, while preserving lovely freshness thanks to harvesting carried out at the right moment.
Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking is carried out with great precision to preserve the brightness of the fruit. Aging takes place in oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new wood, adding complexity and depth to the wine without masking its terroir identity.
Grape Variety
Chardonnay (100%).
