Tasting

Color
The color reveals a pale to golden yellow hue, particularly bright and radiant.

Nose
The nose reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity blending notes of stone fruit, citrus, and brioche, subtly underscored by touches of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, and a striking minerality.

Palate
Generous and fresh, the palate offers a perfect balance between fruit richness and lovely acidic tension. It lingers on a persistent, deeply mineral finish.

This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood platters, delicate or sauced fish, and charcuterie. It also perfectly accompanies goat cheeses or white meats served with cream and mushrooms.

Service and Storage

Endowed with a fine structure, this Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Cailleret" 2024 boasts excellent aging potential and can be enjoyed until around 2042.

The Elegance and Minerality of a White Burgundy Wine

The Estate

Founded in 1797, the House of Louis Latour is an unmissable historic figure in Burgundy. Based in Aloxe-Corton, the estate oversees a 48-hectare vineyard, a large portion of which is classified as Grand Cru. Now led by Florent Latour, the estate stands out for its family independence, preserved for eleven generations, and its commitment to sustainable viticulture. With its own cooperage, the house combines respect for Burgundian tradition with contemporary technical precision to reveal the pure expression of its terroirs.

The Vineyard

Located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, the Chassagne-Montrachet terroir is renowned for its white wines. The Premier Cru "Cailleret" plot takes its name from its highly stony soils. Planted on a rocky hillside between 250 and 350 meters in altitude, with an exposure ranging from east to southwest, the vines thrive on soils composed of brown clay and limestone. This distinctive geology gives the grapes optimal ripeness and a unique mineral signature.

The Vintage

The year 2024 proved particularly challenging from a weather standpoint. The growing season was marked by severe frost episodes at the end of spring, followed by hailstorms and heavy rainfall in September. These difficult climatic conditions considerably reduced yields, requiring an extremely rigorous selection to retain only the highest-quality fruit.

Winemaking and Aging

After a swift pressing, the musts of this Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Cailleret" 2024 begin fermentation with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to medium-toast French oak barrels, produced by the estate's own cooperage, to complete fermentation. Aging continues in barrels, 50% of which are new, for 8 to 10 months, during which malolactic fermentation takes place.
